Description
Wrigley Field Scoreboard
There are few more recognized images in baseball than the Wrigley Field Scoreboard. Manually operated by a team of dedicated, employees since it's installation in 1937, the scoreboard keeps Cub's fans informed of all the MLB games currently underway. These Chicago Cubs employees keep busy during the game, replacing the seven pound steel plates with yellow numbers to indicate a score in an ongoing inning, and white numbers for completed half innings. If it's a hot day, the giant steel box gets stifling inside. The scoreboard crew wear gloves to change out the scalding hot steel plates that have been baking in the sun. And during those cold days and nights early and late in the season, they're wearing heavy winter coats, ski masks and earmuffs.
On this beautiful summer evening, Anthony Rizzo, #44, was at bat.
